Short History to become a Cityhood:
Tabuk became the Cordillera's second city after Baguio on June 23, 2007, when 17,060 voters ratified Republic Act No. 9404. On November 18, 2008, the Supreme Court voted 6–5 to revert Tabuk, among other 15 cities', status back to municipalities. However, on December 21, 2009, the court reversed its first decision, returning Tabuk and the 15 other municipalities back to cities again

Ifugao is a landlocked province of the Philippines in the Cordillera Administrative Region in Luzon. Its capital is Lagawe and it borders Benguet to the west, Mountain Province to the north, Isabela to the east, and Nueva Vizcaya to the south.

The Rice Terraces of the Philippine Cordilleras and Banaue Rice Terraces are the main tourist attractions in the province. These terraces are believed to have been hand-carved into the mountains 2,000 years ago to plant rice. However, recent research by carbon dating suggests that they were built much later. In 1995, the Rice Terraces of the Philippine Cordilleras have declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Panagbenga street dance parade features Cordillera traditions

GMA News, February 23, 2013

Baguio City - Inevitably, there was at least one version of Gangnam Style at the early morning street dance parade Saturday in Baguio City's Panagbenga festival, but for the most part, the rich traditions of the Cordillera region took center stage in the celebration.

From the Pines City National High School, the Tanghalang Teatro Pino presented the "Hulin" ritual of the Ifugao tribe. It is performed during the planting and harvest seasons to drive away pests and bad spirits.

From the Baguio City National High School, the Teatro Mi Pengantaan Pagey narrated the story of Benguet folk hero "Ioway" and how he conquered adversity to bring home a gift for his chosen bride.

The Sakusak Traditional Ensemble from the Pinsao National High School depicted the "Insalay" or ritual for rain in Abra, where it is performed to show the Maeng tribe's respect for nature.

Ifugao Province
Ifugao is a landlocked province of the Philippines located in the Cordillera Administrative Region in Luzon. The province covers a total land area of 262, 820 hectares which is subdivided into 11 municipalities. Ifugao is located in a mountainous region characterized by rugged terrain, river valleys and massive forests. Its capital is Lagawe and borders Benguet to the west, Mountain Province to the north, Isabela to the east, and Nueva Vizxaya to the south.

Ifugao was formerly a part of the old Mountain Province. It was created as an independent province on June 18, 1966 by virtue of Republic Act No. 4695. The name of the province was derived from the word “i-pugo”. Pugo means “hill” while the prefix “i” means “from”. The Spaniards changed “Ipugo” to “Ipugaw”, and it was finally changed by the Americans to “Ifugao”.

The Rice Terraces of the Philippine Cordilleras were inscribed on theUNESCO World Heritage List in 1995, the first-ever property to be included in the cultural landscape category of the World Heritage List.[1]This inscription has five sites: the Batad Rice Terraces, Bangaan Rice Terraces (both in Banaue), Mayoyao Rice Terraces (in Mayoyao),
